Hey there my partner-in-growth!
I haven't posted on LinkedIn or Instagram this week. I noticed my dedication to growing and showing up on these platforms deprived me of growth on my spiritual journey.
It was time for a step back and a comeback.
When my spiritual game is weak, I am unable to function properly. I don’t want to wait till it spirals beyond my control.
In this growth season, my relationship with God will always be my biggest win. No other growth would satisfy me.
This is not about being religious but being honest with you.
I’ve studied myself and I see this happen every time. Whenever something or someone takes my mind more than God, I become frustrated and overwhelmed.
My 90-Day LinkedIn Challenge
I shared my goal of writing for 90 days on LinkedIn with my staff and a friend. When I was about to decide to take a one-week break from that space, I thought about my challenge. As a result, I would break my streak of consistency.
Then I realized, the goal of the 90 days wasn’t to become burned out, overwhelmed and frustrated at the end.
My heart was in SOS mode and it matters more than showing up.
Also, I redefined consistency for myself.
Consistency is not about showing up every day without a break, it’s about keeping at something long enough.
World Record Breakers and Resting
Recently, we’ve witnessed three Nigerians break the Guinness World Record. Amazing feat! There's one for cooking, one for long interviews, and one for chess.
They needed to do that one thing for several hours to break the record. But rest was included in the breaking of those records. There was no way they would have made it if they had all gone without breaks.
As they rested between those hours, they became stronger and more motivated.
A second interesting thing I noticed is that the timer stopped whenever they took a break.
Yup! I stopped the timer when I decided I'd take a week off to be myself again.
The timer starts on Monday.

Rest is productive

This is a faith-based conversation, but it was wholesome. Part 2 is equally so good!
My week's highlight for me was discovering it. (Watch here)

I chose rest over struggle.
I was productive like last week. The alarm reminders are still working!
I reached out for help: This season, I've learned a great deal about vulnerability.
God showed His intentionality about me this week. I was blessed with words, community and resources.
I got a fan mail that encouraged me that these letters mean something to someone. Special shoutout to Temitope! Thank you for the feedback! ❀
That’s it from me this week!
Thank you for reading and I’m rooting for you.
Cheers to your growth!
Insightful one, Sis! I love how you drew our attention to the life lesson in this regard. Thank you 💛.
